The Crimson World is a visual representation of every sexism, a paradox of harsh marginalisation women face by the patriarchy combined with cinematic unconventional visuals. A perspective leading the viewer into a story of the raw and emotional voyage.
The colour red is consistent throughout every image, attracting people to take measures as opposed to being passive, and also trigger opposing emotions.
The narrative progresses once the sequence is in place and puts the viewer into a darker perspective. To regonise how a male dominated society can make women feel, highlighting the taboo outcomes of their actions, will address the necessity of feminism.
Within my work I enjoy building up sets, and finding locations that do not distinctively put the work into specific times, I have always been attracted to vintage aesthetics and vibrant colour palettes. Stepping into surrealism and crossing the line between reality and artists' imagination allows for emphasis on emotions within the work whilst simultaneously provoking emotions with those viewing externally.
