Rory Kennedy Solo Show

Rory Kennedy's debut solo show is an exploration into his established style of sweeping shadows and contrasting colours. His work captures the light as it transforms the shapes of buildings and figures in that golden hour between night and day.

Rory graduated from City of Glasgow College where he studied graphic design. Much of his work reflects his passion for graphic design in the compositional layout, complimentary colours, symmetrical lines, shapes and margin-like borders of his illustrations and acrylic paintings.

​ Rory uses scenes from his travels in Scotland to inspire his work. He takes small details from here and there to combine into a reimagined painted collage. His work feels, familiar, uncanny and dream-like as if you had been there before, even though many of the locations that feature aren't actually real.

​ Rory Kennedy's Solo Show features 7 large and small-scale acrylic and gouache paintings on canvas. His flat matt painting style seems almost digital in style, from the bold colours to eye catching shapes.
