‘Lovely Life’ features a series of paintings exploring the exuberance and life-infusing force of colour found in diverse landscapes and domestic spaces.
These manifestations of colour in our natural and manufactured worlds are impactful on the human psyche and have greatly influenced Lorna’s practice.
From the majesty of wild land and seascapes in her native Scotland and Ireland to the flamboyancy of Turkish markets and sun-drenched Italian coastal towns, Lorna invites the viewer to see the world differently through her colour-saturated lens.
In this particular series of paintings, Lorna has merged scenes from recent travels and her everyday life and incorporated them into imagined dreamscapes. Playing with light and shade, whilst illuminating and exaggerating intricate details from nature and objects that may often be overlooked, Lorna’s reality becomes surreality.
Lorna Sinclair is a visual artist from Scotland, whose practice primarily involves painting, drawing and printmaking.
Graduating from Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art & Design in 2017 with a BA (Hons) in Fine Art, Lorna currently lives and works in Glasgow.
Lorna has exhibited work across Europe, whilst recently completing two Art Residencies in Cyprus and Berlin.
